Summer Fun - Keys!!

When daddy brought home the fancy compass key chains, we began our hunt for play keys. We can't use any working keys, because they might get lost. And Mom couldn't find any old keys that we weren't using. So, whats a kid to do with an empty compass key chain? Well, mom had the idea to purchase new blank keys for the kids to play and pretend with. But then decided to bring the empty keychains carried by sad-faced kids to see if we could get a pity discount from the hardware store. At the counter, we pleaded our case and without hesitation - - the guy pulled out a box full of literally hundreds of keys that were "mis-cuts". He gladly handpicked the keys with prints of Nemo, Tweety Bird, blue stars, and many others for our precious new key chains. THANKS SO MUCH ACE, we'll be back again soon.

Once we were home again, the kids played with the keys for over an hour. Its amazing how many things they found to do with the keys. From poking into little divets in the playset, or shaking them like moracas, to even locking couple of bedroom doors (man, she is too smart). So, now that the ground rules are set {first and foremost - Never touch the front door with play keys.. at any time for any reason} we have an entertaining summer game.
Such a simple and FREE new toy.
